- Client/ Kenyan Citizens – the person who registers on Boma Yangu portal for purposes of applying for allocation of an affordable housing unit
- Any supplier who has been contracted by the Affordable Housing Board and executed a supplier
- Employees of the Affordable Housing Board
- Any visitor that is a person who gains access to any Affordable Housing Board’s premises
- Applicants for employment
“The State Department”, “The Board”, “We” or “us”, “our”, or “ours” means the State Department for Housing and Urban Development and Affordable Housing Board
Personal data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person
Sensitive personal data means data revealing your race, health status, ethnic social origin, conscience, belief, genetic data, biometric data, property details, marital status, family details including names of your children, parents, spouse or spouses, sex or your sexual orientation

- Financial Data: monthly income, latest tax returns, mobile money and SACCO statements, bank statements, pay slip documents, mortgage or loan’s outstanding balance,
- Current residence
- Number of dependents
- Wallet balance
- Housing Preferences: – household type,
- Passport Photo
- Nationality
- Alternative contact’s full names, contacts, telephone number and email address
Sensitive Personal Data
- Marital Status
- Sex
- Property details
We may also indirectly receive your data from other government agencies with a view of carrying out the purposes indicated in this policy.

Use of Information we Collect:

Your personal information collected will be used exclusively for the following purposes:
- To register you on Boma Yangu housing portal
- To assess your eligibility under the Affordable Housing Program.
- To verify your income and accuracy of any declared information
- To assist in arranging home financing if required.
- To communicate with you about various projects, your application status and upon allocation of a house, your payment progress.
- To process transactions related to your housing application, such as payments or refunds.
- To provide you with information or services you have requested.
- To perform data analytics to support decision-making and policy development.
- To comply with legal and regulatory obligations governing the Affordable Housing Program
- To perform our obligations under a contractual arrangement with you, for instance, payment for services rendered
